This course explores the language situation in the Caribbean and examines its implication for the teaching of Standard English. It explores theories of language acquisition and language learning which may be applied to the teaching of English to adolescent learners. It also provides teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective planning and teaching of language. The course, which is divided into five (5) modules, requires students to make presentations as well as engage in practical work and case studies.
