Course: CHE101: Chemistry Unit 1 - 1

Academic Year: 202425

Lecturer: Trudy Jackson

This course takes students on a journey through Fundamental Chemistry principles - from the theories surrounding the tiniest fundamental unit of matter – the atom – through to the glue-like forces of attraction holding these particles together in larger arrangements of molecules and compounds, and further on to the factors that govern the interchanging of atoms in the familiar chemical reactions that are encountered in everyday life. Students are expected to gain mastery of all essential concepts and calculations relevant to further work or study in Chemistry-linked fields. Students also gain experience with a range of experimental techniques and equipment relevant to industry and academia. Students are expected to adhere to all lab safety rules and regulations.
